The senior high youth of Spring Valley Presbyterian (Columbia, S.C.) launched what is now the Souper Bowl of Caring in 1990 with 22 churches raising $5,700. In 2004, a new record of more than four million dollars ($4,000,000) was raised by youth to alliviate hunger around the world.
